The Museum of Mölndal is a museum of cultural history and a meeting place for visitors of all ages. Admission to the museum is free. Our permanent displays and temporary exhibitions focus on artefacts, memories and narration.
The museum stands beside the rushing rapids in the old industrial area of Kvarnbyn, only a fifteen minutes’ walk from the centre of Mölndal and ten minutes’ drive from Gothenburg.
The Open Storage area contains more than 10 000 objects typical of the 20th century. Items are thematically arranged to induce you to see things from a different perspective. The exhibition Luxury from Lindome presents a unique collection of beautiful furniture from the 18th century to the early 20th.
Look, feel, smell and try it out – take in the exhibitions with all your senses!
In the museum shop you will find locally crafted products, books, candy, toys and other souvenirs.
Visit the cafe by the rapids for lunch or a coffee. Sit down on the bridge above the falls or in One room plus kitchen, a reconstruction of a Kvarnbyn home in the early 1900s.
